With the changing of seasons we welcome windy walks, cosy pub fires, the crunching of leaves underfoot, and all of those wholesome activities that are getting us ready for the colder time of year. Here’s some of our top picks…

Autumn events not to miss

Young Guns beer festival
31st october - 4th November
To celebrate the arrival of a brand new brewery, four local upstart breweries are showcasing their newest brews, all for your enjoyment, with plenty of collaboration brews available for you to try. Featured breweries will be Abyss, Cloak & Dagger, Hand, Unbarred and Larrikin. Best to hop on this one quickly to secure your spot!

Mackmyra Whiskey Tasting
4th October
If you fancy yourself a whisky connoisseur then this event is perfect for you. Wander upstairs at The Joker and you’ll stumble across Matt Wilson from the original Swedish whisky company, Mackmyra, to showcase his spirits. First released some 12 years ago, there’s now a fascinating range to explore, making for the perfect autumnal evening. Be quick, this event is free to attend!

One Garden Halloween Trail
22nd - 31st October 
Perfect for all the family to spend and afternoon following riddles and poems around the garden in a spooktastic effort to find the missing jack-o-lantern! You can also enjoy a whole host of pumpkin based recipes along with having a go at carving your own…

Devils Dyke

Perfect for panoramic views across Brighton and there’s also a local pub that you can loop back around to.

Stanmer Park
1.75 miles to 5 miles
Amble around the gorgeous English village, take a seat in the tea rooms and even explore the Great Woods.

Jack & Jill windmills
1.5 miles to 5.5 miles
Perched just seven miles outside of Brighton, take a hike out to these picturesque windmills and explore the best of the South Downs.

Head into the Laines
With cosy pubs often loaded with ample board games to perusing the never-ending vintage shops, you’re guaranteed to find a cosy spot, or even a cosy new jumper. Love a snoop? Then Snoopers Paradise is for you. Laden with hidden treasures you never know what antique gold you might find…
