GB1 Cookery School

Learn - cook - eat

Under the expert guidance of The Grand’s executive chef and seafood expert Alan White, the GB1 Cookery School is perfect for keen cooks who wish to learn more about local fish available from the Sussex coast, seasonality, ingredients that complement different types of fish and the methods of preparing and cooking seafood.  This class incorporates the fantastic array of locally sourced fish used in the 2 AA Rosette-Awarded, GB1 Restaurant. 

What's included:

  • An introduction to GB1 and its food philosophies
  • A seafood cookery demonstration from Alan White
  • Try it yourself! Prepare and cook the dish
  • Sit down to enjoy your culinary creation with a glass of wine (matched to the dish), fresh bread and scallop popcorn

The class runs for 2 hours and takes place in GB1 Seafood Restaurant and Bar on Mondays or Tuesdays only from 12pm. Suitable for beginners to intermediate.

Individual Price: £100 per person 

Group Price: £90 if booking for 6

Why not make a night of it...

Upgrade to include a night's stay in a Classic Double room inclusive of English Breakfast and dinner in GB1. This is only available on Sunday nights. The cookery school takes place on Mondays and Tuesdays from 12pm.

£350 for two.

Things to note:

The class requires a minumum uptake of 2 in order to take place. The maximum course size is 6. Should a class be booked just for two and there are enquiries from new customers, they may join this class up to a maximum of 6. The class is only available on Mondays and Tuesdays, excluding bank holidays, half term weeks, the month of December and seasonal dates e.g. Mother's Day. Other date restrictions may apply and will be advised at the time of booking. This class is payable in advance and in full, and is non transferable and non refundable. The class is not suitable for those with seafood allergies. Full terms and conditions will be advised at the time of booking.
